Abstract

This study aims to analyze the improvement of students' critical thinking skills through the implementation of a Qur'anic values-integrated Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in algebra learning. The research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a Posttest-Only Control Group Design. The participants consisted of an experimental class taught using the Qur'anic values-integrated PBL model and a control class receiving conventional instruction. Data were collected through a critical thinking skills test that had met validity and reliability requirements. Data analysis included the Shapiro–Wilk normality test, Levene's homogeneity test, and the Mann–Whitney test. The findings revealed that students in the experimental class achieved significantly higher critical thinking skills than those in the control class. Therefore, the Qur'anic values-integrated PBL model is effective in improving students' critical thinking skills while promoting meaningful and character-based mathematics learning.
