Abstract
This Community Service activity is focused on the response from the Orton Gillingham method training activities to empower IPNU-IPPNU members in Kalipecabean Village. The aim of this service activity is to find out the response of IPNU-IPPNU members. The selection of IPNU-IPPNU members as partners in community service activities is to increase the abilities of IPNU-IPPNU members because the scope of activities of IPNU-IPPNU members is mostly in the religious field. The Orton-Gillingham method is known to be effective in improving students' reading abilities with a multisensory approach. The stages in community service are the preparation and preparation stage, the training stage, the implementation stage of learning assistance activities, the evaluation stage and filling out response questionnaires. The target of this training activity was 10 IPNU-IPPNU members, while those taking part in learning assistance were 6 Kalipecabean Elementary School students. The results of the questionnaire showed that 90% of IPNU-IPPNU members gave positive responses. Thus, the high number of positive responses indicates that the Orton-Gillingham method is appropriate for use with students who do not read fluently.
