PENGARUH PENGGUNAAN MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN BERBASIS SOFTWARE GEOGEBRA DALAM METODE PEMBELAJARAN MIND MAPPING TERHADAP PEMAHAMAN SISWA
Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of using GeoGebra software learning media and the Mind Mapping learning method on students’ understanding. Students often struggle to understand flat-sided spaces due to difficulties in visualizing three-dimensional shapes and accurately calculating volume and surface area. Therefore, the use of learning media that can help students visualize three-dimensional shapes, such as GeoGebra, combined with learning methods that can maximize brain work, such as mind mapping, is expected to help improve student understanding. Through this idea, research was conducted using a quantitative approach (post-test only control design) with class VIII students of SMPN 1 Jombang, comprising a total sample of 40 students (20 from the experimental class (VIII-J) and 20 from the control class (VIII-I)). Based on the results of the analysis (independent t-test), it was found that there was a difference in the level of understanding between students from the experimental class and students from the control class, with the average score of experimental class students being better than the average score of students from the control class. It can be concluded that the use of GeoGebra learning media and the Mind Mapping learning method have an impact on the understanding of geometry.
